lt aims to develop water secure cities in the spirit of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat
Project components under CWAP include
Universal coverage of water supply
Sewerage, septage management and recycle/ reuse of treated used water
Rejuvenation of water bodies (including urban wetland) and creation of green spaces.
The total indicative outlay for AMRUT 2.0 for Meghalaya is ₹121 crore including central share of ₹110 crore for five years from FY 2021-22 to FY 2025-26. (Funding for projects for north-eastern states is 90:10)
City Water Action Plans (CWAPs) will comprise of project proposals with the target of filling gaps arrived at in the CWBPs. Project proposals have been invited for Universal water supply and Rejuvenation of water bodies, green spaces & parks
Progress
Out of 8 projects submitted under Tranche 1 of SWAPs (State water Action Plans),
Williamnagar Urban Water Supply Scheme has been approved by the Apex Committee at a cost of 121 crore.
Key Features of Project
New Water Supply source – quantity 20 MLD
New Water Treatment Plant – capacity 15 MLD
New Transmission network – length 12 km
New pumping station with length of mains – 10.5 km
New Storage Capacity – capacity 15 MLD
Will provide 7229 new Water Tap Connections to 6893 households and 336 slums, while servicing 686 existing connections in 4 wards of Williamnagar.
Date of DPR preparation – 21st March 2022
Estimated Project Award Date – 30th June 2022
Estimated Project Completion Date – 31st March 2024 (640 days)
Estimated O&M cost – 0.5 crore
